Final Cut Pro Introduction: Professional Post Production in Final Cut Pro X (FCP X)

Final Cut Pro X is a revolutionary video editing application that helps beginners and seasoned professionals achieve stunning results. In this three-day, hands-on course, students become familiar with the user interface while they learn how to perform editing functions. Students work with real-world media to learn practical approaches to video editing?from basic techniques to the powerful advanced features of Final Cut Pro. The course replaces the now-deprecated Apple Authorised courses known as FCP101 and FCP300. It may also be taken as a private, closed session over four or five days, for those who prefer more time and a less intensive pace. <strong>For Students Enrolled in a Virtual Class: </strong> Each student will need to setup two (2) computers in order to take the class virtually. The first can be a PC, tablet or Mac. The second computer must be a Mac and you will need the software (and version) being taught in the course already installed on your computer. This setup will allow virtual students to view the presentation on one computer and do support exercises on the other one.

This three-day, hands-on course starts with motion graphics fundamentals and moves into compositing, animation, and the world of 3D. Explore new intelligent templates to quickly and flexibly create high-quality effects, titles, transitions, and generators as well as create rigs to adjust related parameters with a single control.

Introduction to Apple iMovie

This one day course will teach participants iMovie's basic approach to video editing, as well as providing additional insights into a wider range of its special features and functionality. During the course candidates will be able to log and capture footage, edit in the iMovie environment, create a short movie using cuts and transitions, apply audio and visual effects filters and export to various platforms.

Basic Video Production - Shooting and Editing

Aimed at anyone with a requirement to shoot and edit professional quality video content, this three day course starts by looking at the basic video camera technology and how to capture general footage and record interviews. Day two covers hands-on shooting and on Day 3, we stay in the studio, editing footage using a professional editing software, adding sound, titles and voiceovers, and finally learning how to deliver the result in the required format, whether for web or broadcast delivery. On scheduled courses, the editing software used is Adobe Premiere Pro. For private training, delegates can choose to work with Apple Final Cut Pro or iMovie if preferred.

Introduction to Colour Grading

This course is aimed at editors, data wranglers or enthusiasts who want to flesh out their knowledge of colour correction work. The course teaches critical colour theory concepts, how to use scopes and also analyses how colour is used in film to create mood or affect viewers perceptions.

Introduction to Davinci Resolve

This course is aimed at those wanting to become colourists or DITs and wishing to work with industry standard colour grading application, Davinci Resolve. The course teaches critical colour theory concepts, how to use scopes and other important aspects of Resolve 10.0.

Davinci Resolve For Editors

This course is aimed at video editors who are already doing colour correction work in their NLE, possibly using Magic Bullet, Film Convert or other similar plugins, but want to take their skill levels in Resolve up a notch. The course builds on the delegate’s knowledge of scopes and makes comprehensive coverage of the principle tools and techniques in Resolve.
